There are many conflicting theories surrounding the 9/11 events, many of them are contradicting each other, as you probably know.

The purpose of this web site is to systematically present all the existing theories, together with the best supporting evidence behind each one.

Conspiracy theories

First of all, let's do without the term "conspiracy theories". This is a loaded phrase that no longer means what it says.

A theory is just that: an idea that needs to be proved or disproved. Theories abound in science, academia and everyday life about everything in the universe.

A conspiracy is by definition two or more people agreeing to collaboratively do something illegal or unethical. Conspiracies abound in our modern society and are surrounding us.

Theories about conspiracies are filling the court rooms of every modern nation. Co-conspirators are being tried and sentenced all the time.

It is to be noted that the official theory by the government of the 9/11 events is a conspiracy theory: co-conspirators conspired to hijack airplanes and fly them into US landmark buildings, a theory that has some supporting evidence but not enough to satisfy everybody.

Yet, conspiracy theory has taken a very dark, sinister, dirty and taboo connotation when used in the context of 9/11, the JFK assassination and other events or supposed conspiracies clouded in mystery. It is so much true that well known, progressive web sites are banning any user who dares mentioning anything about any conspiracy theory.

The dichotomy between what the phrase means and the way it is used by so many people is such that we cannot use this term in any useful way any more. Thus, we shall abstain from using it.

Official theories

Two important things must be noted:

First, there is not one official theories, but several. Some of the core tenets of all the official theories are common to all of them. Yet there exists some significant differences between the successive official theories about some key events of that fateful day. The official theories succeeded one after the other, as may be expected, as a result of ongoing investigation.

Then, as noted above, the official theories are all conspiracy theories. Those theories need to be stated, explained, supported by evidence and proved or disproved... just like any other theories.

Alternative theories

Everybody knows by now that a significant number of people are in profound disagreement with the official theories. Those people have their own theories. We shall call them "alternative theories".

Still, the alternative theories are not a unified field. There are some major themes commonly accepted by the 9/11 truth seeking movement, but there are also differing opinions about such or such detail. Also, there exist in the fringes some really exotic theories, usually dismissed by the majority. We shall also cover such fringe theories... but only as much as they can offer evidence.

Methodology

As we have just seen, the number of theories attempting to explain the 9/11 event is quite important.

It is not convenient however to make a list of them and to label them all. Many groups share many ideas but differ in more or less minor points.

What we shall do instead is systematically cover all the aspects of the 9/11 events and for each aspect present the competing explanations and lingering questions together with the best available evidence.
